Recommended Expectations of Members of the Board of Directors

  1. Attend as many board meetings as possible. Participation at board meetings is the minimal expectation, but not the only role as a board member.
  2. Respond promptly to requests from NYSFOLA board members and employees.
  3. Be a supportive NYSFOLA member, cultivate new members, and communicate with non- member associations about NYSFOLA membership.
  4. Attend the NYSFOLA annual conference, and support those who have conference responsibilities with ideas, presentations, or other actions.
  5. Serve and participate on at least one committee, keep informed and assist as needed on other committees.
  6. Understand the priorities communicated by NYSDEC and support the CSLAP program for NYS lakes.
  7. Support NYSFOLA communications through contributing articles to Waterworks, Facebook, and the NYSFOLA website as appropriate.
  8. Abide by NYSFOLA policies.
  9. Provide NYSFOLA support through time, talents, and funding as applicable.
