Recommended Expectations of Members of the Board of Directors
- Attend as many board meetings as possible. Participation at board meetings is the minimal expectation, but not the only role as a board member.
- Respond promptly to requests from NYSFOLA board members and employees.
- Be a supportive NYSFOLA member, cultivate new members, and communicate with non- member associations about NYSFOLA membership.
- Attend the NYSFOLA annual conference, and support those who have conference responsibilities with ideas, presentations, or other actions.
- Serve and participate on at least one committee, keep informed and assist as needed on other committees.
- Understand the priorities communicated by NYSDEC and support the CSLAP program for NYS lakes.
- Support NYSFOLA communications through contributing articles to Waterworks, Facebook, and the NYSFOLA website as appropriate.
- Abide by NYSFOLA policies.
- Provide NYSFOLA support through time, talents, and funding as applicable.
