Membership

There are different categories of NYSFOLA membership:

  • Lake Association Membership (small, medium, large, tax district)
  • Lake Foundations
  • Individual Members who are also members of NYSFOLA member lake associations
  • Individual Members who are not also members of NYSFOLA member lake associations
  • Corporate Members

Lake Association members include lake associations from all across the state.  Our members can be found on small kettle ponds in Suffolk County, large Finger Lakes, lakes in the Adirondack Park, and lakes in urban and suburban settings. 

Some of the associations are large and incorporated. Others are small fishing and boating clubs or other recreational organizations.  We offer different levels of membership for various sizes and types of lake associations.

Lake Foundations – Many of our member lake associations have created separate “funding” arms in the form of not-for-profit foundations.  In most cases, both the lake association and the correlating foundation find it desirable to join NYSFOLA.

Individual Membership-NYSFOLA Member Lake Association– Individuals who are also members of a NYSFOLA lake association often want to show their support for the statewide organization, be on our mailing list, and receive their own copy of our newsletter “Waterworks.”  We offer a special $15/yr rate for this level of membership.

Individual Membership-Not Affiliated with a NYSFOLA Member Lake Association– Individuals can also join NYSFOLA even if they are not part of a NYSFOLA lake association.  Show your support!  Receive our newsletter.  Sign up at the $25 membership level.

Corporate Membership– Many businesses offer lake-related products and services.  They show their support by becoming NYSFOLA members.  Many of these businesses are also exhibitors at our annual conference.
